Bamboo Tablet

Bamboo tabletSo I’ve purchased my first Wacom tablet. The last and first time I used one was about 2 years ago, and did not like it at all. I’ve never been too fond of tablets, and been pretty good with a mouse, but I decided I’d give it another shot.

I took a trip to the Northridge mall’s Apple store and purchased the economically priced Bamboo tablet by Wacom. Was debating whether to get this model, or the Bamboo Fun, or an Intuos. Well since it is my first purchase, and I have a collection of 5 different mice, I didn’t need any extras, so I went with the Bamboo.

It’s got a nice clean look to it, and 4 light up buttons on the tablet. Nice soft feel on the pen and the surface, and a touch sensitive scroll/zoom pad. I wish the pad lit up too, or maybe if the pen had a glow tip, maybe like the pen would glow more intense the harder you press on it? Just something cool!

Anyhow, it’s a great product, the pen is very precise aside from getting used to it, and I’ve been testing it out in Photoshop and it’s an awesome tool to use while creating masks with a brush. So far I’m pleased with it, few drawbacks would be double clicking on things with the tip, it’s made my MacPro act funny dragging in the wrong areas, and you really got make sure u click the buttons on the side. Could just take some getting used to, but I’ve been using the eraser end to navigate around…or my trust mouse!

All in all I think it’s a pretty neat product, at the price of about $75 after tax, why not get one! Fun to use, and precise too!
